With a journey as a transwoman starting at fifteen years old, by the time Monika Veliz joined Margie's Hope in 2021 she was already an accomplished artist and entrepreneur. She served first as a board member, then elected Vice President, and finally elected unanimously as President all within the same year.

Her mission to better the community through livelihood, education, and community connectivity, particular in our Trans Youth, remains her presidential focus, and guide for the board.

Tucker began volunteering at Margie’s Closet in June 2021 after moving to Cleveland from Virginia. Throughout his life, he has dedicated his time and professional skills to social justice work. Tucker is also active in the Cleveland music scene, where he works to provide a safe space for fellow queer musicians and artists.

In addition to his duties as Vice-President, Tucker also serves on the Fundraising committee, the Finance committee, and as chair of the Board Development Committee.

Taylor began her transition in 2022 with the help of the Margie’s Hope organization. Taylor has skills with technology and design that she brings to the organization.

Taylor joined the Margie’s Hope board in 2023, where she serves as the chair of the Grant committee and serves on the Marketing committee. She is a volunteer at Margie’s Closet.

Lexi Tabor is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community who is passionate about reproductive and social justice. She believes that all people should have access to their basic needs and rights, and spends her time trying to ease the hurdles that exist to this access, both in her career as a birth worker and her time volunteering with Margie’s Hope.

You may have gotten emails from her or seen her coordinating volunteers at events. She helps Monika stay organized and is a liaison between the community and the Board.

Natalie Martin is a long-serving board member of Margie’s Hope. She is a facilitator for several of our peer support groups, as well as the chair of the Programs Committee.

Jordan Adams is a beloved entertainer and passionate advocate within the LGBTQIA+ community for over two decades. Throughout his career, he has captivated audiences with his performances, spreading joy and empowerment through his art.

Jordan also played a pivotal role behind the scenes as the show director for Margie’s Hope fundraising shows. Jordan brought these events to life, providing a platform for artists to shine while raising awareness and funds for important causes within the community.

Lexie has been part of the leather community as well as the LGTBQ+ for over a decade. As a leather title holder, she did many fundraisers for different organizations throughout Cleveland and surrounding counties.

Lexie has been a volunteer for Margie's Hope for over a year and was on the fundraising committee for The Daisy Gala, as well as a performer in several shows helping raise money for the Gala. Lexie became the first transgender woman to hold a leather title in Cleveland. With her title, Lexie continues to educate the community on transgender rights as well other transgender issues.
