TransAlive

TransAlive is a peer support group for anyone who identifies as transgender*, partners and families of anyone who identifies as transgender*, and allies to the transgender* community. We are not a counseling service, but rather a community of people who gather to support each other as we sojourn through our lives.

We meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month, at 6:00pm. The next meeting is July 23rd!

TransAlive has a Facebook page that is intended to facilitate communication about meeting updates, bring attention to events, articles and other information of relevance to the community, and providing support between meetings. It is not required that you attend TransAlive meetings to join this Facebook group, nor is it a requirement that you join this Facebook group to attend meetings. If you would like to join this Facebook group, send an email with a short description of who you are and why you would like to join, to transaliveakron@yahoo.com. The Facebook page is private, and no one can see what is posted within the group unless they are a part of the group.

If you do not have Facebook, but would like updates on meetings and events, please send an email to margieshope@sbcglobal.net and we will send you weekly/monthly notifications on what is going on within the TransAlive community.

*Transgender is used in the broad sense of the word, meaning anyone whose gender identity does not align with their sex assigned at birth. It includes those who identify as transsexual, cross-dressers, gender queer, agender, bi-gender, gender fluid, or anyone anywhere on the transgender spectrum.
